The incident, which occurred near the Pyramid of the Moon, resulted in the tragic loss of a Canadian tourist and injuries to at least 13 others, including a 6-year-old child.
The Suspect and the Sequence of Events
According to authorities, the suspect behind the shooting was identified as Julio Cesar Jasso Ramirez, who climbed up to the mezzanine level of the pyramid around 11 AM and began firing. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with tourists running in every direction, some tripping or falling as they tried to escape.
