Tiger Woods, the 15-time major champion, is set to make his highly anticipated return to competitive golf after a year-long recovery from back surgery. The news was announced on Tuesday night in Florida, where Woods will tee off for the Jupiter Links in the TGL Finals.
The Jupiter Links, of which Woods is a part, lost 6-5 in the first match of the best-of-three series in the TGL Finals. Woods’ return to golf has been a long time coming, with his last competitive appearance being over a year ago in the TGL. His last PGA Tour event was the Open Championship in 2024, where he struggled with a ruptured Achilles.
A Year of Recovery and Rehabilitation
Woods underwent back surgery in October, which was a result of a long-standing issue that had been affecting his game. Before the surgery, he was rehabbing a ruptured Achilles, which he suffered in March 2025. The golf legend has been open about the challenges he faced during his recovery, stating that disc replacement is not a lot of fun and that his body doesn’t heal like it used to when he was younger.
